Former President of Somalia Sharif sheikh Ahmed has said the confiscation of UAE Money at Muqdishu International Airport last week by Somali Federal government was clear "violations” of diplomatic norms and the "historic” ties between the two countries”

In an interview with Alrabiya satellite TV on Monday afternoon the former President of Somalia praised what he called the "historic” ties between the two countries " in my presidency, I used come here again and again. The former President also said he personally met with current President of Somalia and talked about the situation in the region and importance to maintain the Somali Emeriti relations "I travelled to Somalia and explained the president on the situation in the region and importance of the relationship between our countries” said Sharif.

Yesterday, the President of biggest Federal State in Somalia -Puntland Abdiwali Ali Gas apologized to UAE and said the support of UAE is indispensible to his state.

The remarks of fomer president come amid deepening diplomatic crisis between rich gulf country and Somalia.

The UAE declared to have suspended their military support to Somalia and the closure of hospital in the capital.
