Waagacusub.com- A Nairobi court Wednesday awarded three Kenyans who were being held in Uganda over terrorism charges $78,800. Delivering his ruling, High court judge David Majanja said that the three, Mohamed Adan Abdow, Mohamed Hamid Suleiman and Yahya Suleiman Mbuthia deserved the awards saying that their rights had been violated.

The three were among four others who were arrested in Kenya and sent to Uganda to face charges over the 2010 Kampala bombing.

The extradition drew criticism from human rights activists who questioned why the suspects – who are Kenyan citizens were sent to face charges in a foreign country.

In July 2010, two bombs went off at the Ethiopian village restaurant in Kampala while football fans watched the World Cup final between Netherlands and Spain.

76 people were killed in the attack which was claimed by the Somali based Al-Shabaab terror group.

13suspects, including Seven Kenyans, one Tanzanian and five Ugandans have so far faced charges. Seven of them were convicted and found guilty of terrorism, murder and attempted murder.
