WAAGACUSUB:- Mogadishu (HOL) - The Office of the Prime Minister has asked all cabinet ministers from refrain from making public statements on sensitive issues without being cleared by the Prime Minister.

The statement, signed by Deputy PM Mahdi Mohamed Guled, explicitly bans all sitting cabinet ministers from posting statements through social media, radio, and television without ostensibly being cleared by the Prime Minister and his communication team.

"All the ministers in which this letter is addressed to are informed before writing anything on their Social Media platforms or engaging with the press, they need to acquire permission from the Office of the Prime Minister"

The decision comes on the heels of alleged killing of ten civilians, including children by SNA troops backed by U.S. forces in Bariire village on Friday. The government adamantly denies the charges and assert that those killed were militants fighting with Al-Shabaab.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, several high-level officials and ministers took to twitter to discuss the raid.

The families of those deceased have refused to bury the bodies until the government takes responsibility for the killing and pay diya (blood money) as compensation for their death. Barrie village elders told Reuters the U.S. troops had been stumbled into clan fighting in the area.

Somalia's army chief, Ahmed Jimale Gedi told reporters that says civilians, not extremists, were killed in the joint military operation and that both the US and Somalia would investigate.
