Djibouti
to send 450 troops to Mogadishu for AU peace mission
support

Nairobi (Waagacusub) The tiny government in horn of
Africa, Djibouti, said on Thursday it was allocating
to send 450 armed forces to Somalia likely by the next
month in an effort Djibouti wants to enhance the African
peace keeping mission known as (AMISOM) which is sheltering
the frail Somalia's UN-backed government which is in
place with the little control of Mogadishu, country's
capital.

Uganda and Burundi have already dispatched 2,500 peacekeepers
each to Mogadishu in full participation in AMISOM force
in the conflict - ravaged nation in horn of Africa .
Since African operation began in Somalia , AMISOM force
frequently encounters daily attacks from deadly roadside
bombs and rebel ruthless artillery. The force is trying
to increase its numbers beyond the 5,000 troops.
Djibouti's Foreign Minister Mahmud Ali Yusuf stated
that Djibouti was preparing its troops who are now under
training so that it could carry out its mission in a
very well-organized manner. The minister was speaking
in African Union foreign ministers' meeting.
"We hope that our army contribution to Africa
mission in Somalia will inspire other African countries
with vision to positively follow our foot steps in action.
We have to keep in mind that this peace mission is useful
to not only the nations in the region in particular
but all African states in general in an honor,"
The minister said in the meeting. He went on by saying
" Somalia is a neighboring country. We have a very
close relationship. We can see what is going on there
and we have to contribute as Africans, we have to be
very vigilant on our security matters because al Qaeda
has a very large network in the Arabian Peninsula and
also in the Horn of Africa.".
Djibouti which is also conducting the military training
of 3000 Somali national army in its territory is where
the agreement which resulted in the current government
to take its shape after negotiations brokered by international
community.
