News English  13/April/2008  Waagacusub.com

After warning leaflets have been dropped in Bakara market on Sunday by unknown groups warning to reduce the oversized exchange rate the traders have entirely closed down there business sites.

In the dropped leaflets it was written down to swap over $100 into 1,5000,000 Somali as the exchangers swap for more than that amount.

Some exchange businessmen have told Waagacusub that they fear for their life and property since they were ordered to lessen their sky flying exchange rate that they believe would lose for their business.

This comes, as the exchange rate of $100 into Somali shillings is up to 3,100,000 So.Sh despite of that there has been rebuttal of the old Somali money later than additional fake currency was brought in the capital Mogadishu from northeastern regions.

The words of warning leaflets were dropped in Bakara market saying that there would be tough action against the exchange traders those were accused of responsible the sharp inflation raging in Somalia.

Al-shabab denied the responsibilty of the leaflets were dropped in Bakara market as the spokesman of Alshabab Sheikh Moqtar Robow Abu-mansur said in a phone line news conference he held for the local Media today.
