WAAGACUSUB:- A small aircraft reportedly belonging to Bancroft Global has crash-landed at Mogadishu’s Aden International Airport on Tuesday.

Emergency crews at the airport battled to put out a fire that engulfed the jet engine shortly after it landed.

There were no casualties reported in the crash. The plane was carrying four foreign nationals.
Local media reports say that the plane took off from Balidogli Middle Shabelle.

Airport officials have been silent about details of the crash landing.

According to it’s website, Bancroft Global is a multinational, not-for-profit NGO that works on stabilization projects in conflict zones. The company is known to be providing logistics and supplies to African Union forces in Somalia.

It is not yet known if weather or wind direction played a significant role in the crash landing. Turkish Airlines experienced major difficulties landing this week and had to delay landing at Aden International Airport for a total of 3 days. Weary passengers were taken to either Djibouti or Mombassa to wait out the weather conditions.

All flights to and from the airport were suspended for an hour until the emergency crews were able to clear the runway.
