Ronaldo scores 2 to lift Real past Juve in Champions League final
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals to help Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Cardiff, Wales.
With the victory, Real claimed its 12th title and became the first team to repeat as European champions during the Champions League era.
The Spanish outfit opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Ronaldo.
Juventus equalized seven minutes later when Mario Mandžukić controlled a pass with his chest and scored a spectacular bicycle-kick volley that looped into the far corner.
Casemiro’s shot in the 61st minute took a heavy deflection and beat Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Three minutes later, Ronaldo netted his second goal of the night, and 12th of this season’s Champions League, beating Buffon from close range.
Asensio added a fourth goal in injury time.
