    Minneapolis mayor endorses Mohamud Noor for Ward 6

WAAGACUSUB:- Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges has endorsed Mohamud Noor for city councillor on Thursday at the Bryan Coyle Community Centre in South Minneapolis.

Mr Noor returned the favour by endorsing her re-election bid for mayor.

Noor is running a tight race in Ward 6 against incumbent and fellow Somali-American Abdi Warsame. Noor is currently the director of the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota.

He previously ran for a seat on the Minneapolis Public Schools board in 2010 and for a seat in the state legislature against longtime incumbent Phyllis Kahn in 2014.

"The East African community, the Somali community is so crucial to the success of Minneapolis, but what can Minneapolis do to be crucial to your success? You said to me we want someone that we can turn to” Mayor Betsy Hodge told the packed crowd of Noor supporters ”I know Mohamud Noor can be that partner in the city council to do even more, we need that voice in the city council”.

The Minneapolis mayoral election will be held on November 7, 2017
