Engineer killed after IED explosion at KM4

Waagacusub.com-An IED explosion on Thursday claimed the life of an engineer, according to witnesses. Eng. Mohamed Abdi Karie was killed when he was driving his vehicle near the KM4 roundabout when his car hit an IED.

Waagacusub.com-An IED explosion on Thursday claimed the life of an engineer, according to witnesses. Eng. Mohamed Abdi Karie was killed when he was driving his vehicle near the KM4 roundabout when his car hit an IED. Local khat dealers were seen fleeing the scene was Karie's car exploded.

Security forces have arrived on the scene to conduct investigations.

On Tuesday, a car fitted with explosives seriously wounded a CID officer in the same vicinity.

Although there has been no formal claim on responsibility, security officials believe the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab is responsible for the attack.
