ICJ postpones Somalia-Kenya maritime dispute case
International Court of Justice (ICJ) has postponed the hearing of Somalia-Kenya Maritime border dispute case.
According to Somalia’s ambassador to the EU, Ali Said Fiqi, the ICJ informed both neighbouring countries that their dispute case about the maritime has been delayed for two months.
The envoy who confirmed the postponement dispelled reports claiming twelve months delay saying the hearing of the case will kick off 4th of November.
The development comes a week after Kenya requested the case to be delayed for twelve months, claiming it was recruiting new defence team.
In its response, Somalia opposed the demand and termed it as deeply troubling.
The hearing of the case was initially slated for September 9.
